FAIRNESS, AS A JOURNALISTIC CODE OF CONDUCT

Fairness means exploring all sides of an issue, reporting and finding accuracy in journalism. It means that a journalist should strive for accuracy and truth in reporting and not slant a story so that a reader draws a reporter's desired conclusion. Some critics argue that journalists never succeed in being completely balanced and fair in telling all sides of a story.

What are leaders and agenda setters without transparency is the question. From a calculated perception, fairness is the important part of the journalistic code of conduct in Namibia. It comes with transparency, objectivity, accountability, independence and integrity. Fairness means that when covering hard news, reporters dont convey their own feelings, biases or prejudices in their stories. That's objective fairness. A reporter is not only objective and fair but also conveys an image of being objective and fair. Without fairness, journalists won't be able to find and write or report on a accurate stories without no harm.

Fairness and objectivity is a discipline to test bias against evidence. It attracts public recognition and acknowledgement from society and mass media. Journalists who select sources to express what is really their own point of view, and than use the neutral voice to make it seem fair, are engaged in a form of deception. This damages the credibility if the craft by making it seem unprincipled, dishonest and biased. Impartial reporting, I think and fairness are integral for the future because abandoning fairness makes people passive recipients of news rather than aggressive analysts, and that is not fair at all as they are the audience for which news or stories are being produced. Fairness and objectivity also protects journalists from consequences and loss of credibility because it is important to come as close to the truth as possible to avoid bad accountable actions.

Fairness is the medium to success in journalism. It has no harm and gains trust of the audience.  Would media institutions have gone this far making profit? Would they have had constant consumers of their stories. At last but not least, how immensely would legal issues arise in the company and what would happen to the company's reputation?

                   CELEBRITY CULTURE AND SOCIETY

Celebrity culture is a high-volume perpetuation of celebritues' personal lives on a global scale. It refers to the culture of popularizing certain people who have certain attributes that society deem emotional. Have some of us been tryin to comprehend the how celebrity culture impacts our society? Has it come to our minds to get to know this celebrity culture concept? Well, we are going to talk about how/if it helps or hurt the society.

As we can see that today, news about celebrities are fully appearing on all kinds of communication media, the television and online media such as the internet. From an honst and more accurate perception, we are living in a world of media innovation together with the development of celebrity culture. Celebrity culture is shaped by new technologies that makes the mechanical reproduction of images and the extreme dessemination of information/news through media such as radio, cinema television and the internet easily. It is a symbiotic relationship from which performers obtain wealth, honours and social powers in exchange for selling a sense of intimacy to audiences. As for fans, it produce intense identification at music concerts, athletic arenas, and other displays of fantasy objects, weather live or recordedand mechanically produced. Celebrities parade in public media events as they recieve honours and awards such as the Oscars for movie stars in America. This identifications can lead to the role reversals where fans can covet the wealth, honours and suppose powersof the celebrities.

However, this culture brings us the news of impossible amounts of fun, and the entertainment comes at any cost. Interestingly, celebrities seem to affect our lives quite intensely and unknowingly. We may in addition say that celebrity news has become the only fodder for intellectual and stunting conversations limiting our imagination, imagine. People dont only love the miseries of our beloved celebrities, but are also affected by their portrayal of sexualized behaviours, the gullible prey has become the young generation in a hurry to grow up. Furthermore to this,  celebrities get pregnant, they can be drug and alcohol abusers but we still would be entertained by them and still love them at the same time and still be role models for teenagers growing up in this celebrity culture-filled society. The constant bombardment of celebrity lifes has made most of the people relateto them (celebrities) more than they relate to their friends or neighbours. Celebrity culture and their lives can set a false example too. In the past olden days, if some children were asked about their dream it would be to become a pilot, lawyer or doctor. However, today, most of the answers would be ''to be famous''. Celebrity content is being held by the new media that has leading new ways of introducing, producing and consuming celebrity online magazines and news which also has which also has an expansive effect on society. Young adults become too obssesed, ending up being celebrities without actually achieving anything. Celebrities will do anything sensible as businesspeople to get back on their two feet when their careers are drowning, this is an encouragement of confidence and consistency.

Celebrity culture divides opinions amongst youngsters and adults. It is a subject that has to be introduced in school syllabuses to educate our future leaders on this celebrity culture content. In conclusion, I would say that celebrity culture hurt the society seventy percent more than it helps because of nothing else but not having the knowledge and understanding of it. It is something that people should sit back and watch what celebrities do and not try to copy what they do. Talking of talented young people, they should come up with their own unique ideas on how they want to live as celebrities, their own content, their swag, what example to set and foremostly have specialized mentors on this ''celebrity culture''.
